I really don’t know what to make out of this – I couldn’t resist the slightly mischievous spin on the name; if “That Wanaka Tree” had a less famous sibling, perhaps that would be this tree.
Perhaps no less impressive (to me at least), I found this tree just a short walk from That Wanaka Tree. I took this picture with my iPhone 12 Pro’s ultra wide angle lens, and converted the image to monochrome to highlight the textures and lines of the trunk and branches.
